Small, sophisticated and totally different from any other Christmas market you’ve ever seen before. Purple potterywares, a pink nutcracker or chocolate penis lolly pops – here you’ll find a whole world of things to see and experience. And everyone is welcome – locals, tourists, families. Christmas Avenue opens daily at 12pm. A performance stage with an extensive programme of events can be found at the far end of the market.
Cologne is Germany’s gay and lesbian capital – it is estimated that 10% of the population is gay. There are gay carnival sessions in Cologne, a huge gay sports association and Germany’s largest CSD parade. And since 2012, with the opening of “Christmas Avenue”, Cologne also has its very own gay Christmas market.
