From 5 to 21 May 2017, Cologne – along with Paris – will be host to the Ice Hockey World Championship. 34 of the Championship’s 64 games will take place in the Lanxess-Arena, including the semi-finals and the final.
The Ice Hockey World Championship 2017 will take place from the 5 to 21 May in Cologne and Paris. There will be a total of 64 games played; 34 of them in the Lanxess-Arena in Cologne. Group A’s preliminary round (Russia, USA, Sweden, Slovakia, Germany, Latvia, Denmark, Italy) will be played in Cologne, as well as two quarter-final games, the semi-finals and the final.
Germany will be hosting its eighth Ice Hockey World Championship. At the last World Championship on home soil in 2010, Germany made it right through to the semi-finals only to be beaten 3:1 by Sweden.
