26th IHF Men’s World Championship

The 26th IHF Men’s World Championship (10 - 27 January 2019)  is organised in the two handball-loving countries of Germany and Denmark and one main round is played in LANXESS Arena in Cologne (19-23 January). The other main round is played in Herning/Denmark.

The other venues for Germany/Denmark are Herning, Copenhagen (Denmark – where Sport Event Denmark is a partner), Hamburg, Berlin and Munich (Germany). The finals will take place in Herning’s Jyske Bank Boxen, where the preliminary round, knock-out matches and finals of the 2015 IHF Women’s World Championship were held. The semi-finals will be played in Hamburg’s Barclaycard Arena. The opening game of the World Championship is played in Berlin, Germany on 10 January 2019 whereas the final is played in Herning, Denmark on 27 January 2019.

As organisers, the teams of Germany and Denmark are already qualified and will play in Group A in Berlin and Group C in Herning, respectively. Germany and Denmark will welcome overall 24 teams to compete in the 26th IHF Men’s World Championship. Those 21 teams have qualified so far for the 2019 World Championship:

Asia: Qatar, Bahrain, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia
